Our Story
Inspiration |
Drawing inspiration from Latino LEAD’s LiderCon 2022, a few college students from Fargo-Moorhead gathered together to think of a way to bring the energy from LiderCon 2022 up to here. After a few discussions and some coordination, the first Tri-College Alliance of Latinos Conference was held in February 2023 at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. With over 60 community members attending and 6 talented community leaders, it was one of the few of its kind in the area.

Moment |
The conference was organized by the Latinx Organization for Achievement, a Concordia College student organization, and centered on discussions around Latinos in Education and Latinos in Fargo-Moorhead. Emphasizing that events like this were important because they are crucial to understanding and addressing topics impacting the F-M Latino community. It was here were many us saw and heard the surprise of our communities when they heard impact that barriers have on our communities but us the power of combined unity and action.
|
Future |
As we move forward, we hope to get more community leaders to attend so that we can raise awareness of these issues, make room for conversation, and figure out a way to address them. However, as people involved in the Latino community here, we can’t do this alone. The success of this movement relies on the involvement of each of our respective communities. With the right encouragement and support, our Latino communities can achieve remarkable feats, challenging the boundaries that society has imposed upon them.
